10 on Tuesday: questions for you

1.Your mother is flying in for a week to watch your kids so you and the Other can go on vacation. With no kids. Let me be clear...a vaction with your spouse ONLY. Where do you go?

2. Kids are asleep, husband is at work and you can feel it in your bones that you're going to be able to stay awake yourself beyond 9 pm. What do you do?

3. The economy is crap, what goes? Obviously not hypothetical as the economy is actually crap, are you making household cuts?

4. A mother with children older than yours tells you the horrors that are to come in the public school system. Do you
a)stick your head in the sand and just hope they turn out okay?
b)roll your motorhome off a cliff so you can afford to send your kids to a private, less...what's the right word here?? less agenda filled school or
c)homeschool?

5. Two kids, one extra curricular that they will both love: swimming or soccer? Keep in mind San Antonio is just a few degrees shy of Hades in the summer time. This one seems obvious to me, but I want to know other peoples thoughts.

6. Mommy guilt, we all have it. What's your biggest point of kid induced guilt?

7. What current happening weighs heaviest on your mind? There are a lot with the war and economy and politics and this country in general, I'd love to hear what you talk about 'round the dinner table.

8. If you could change just one facet of your current life, what would it be?

9. What's something you didn't have as a kid that you want for your own kids?

10. One favorite thing right now, today? Book, song, movie, food, anything.

Wow, so, those are power-packed questions. For #1, the answer is ANYWHERE!!! Anywhere you can go to be alone is a wonderful place. If I had to make any recommendation, it would be to go somewhere that you can relax (mountains, beach, etc.) not somewhere that will create an agenda of things for ya'll to do rather than speding time together.

For #4, I just want to say that you aren't going to find a school that doesn't have some sort of agenda. We send Hunter to a private school, and a very good one in my opinion, but there's always an agenda. Take that for what it's worth...

#6- my mommy guilt always hovers around feeling like I can't spend enough time with Hunter!

I suppose that's all I have to say about that!

1. at this point i would go ANYWHERE that has a temp above 75 :) but i guess it depends are you a hang out on vacation couple or run around see stuff couple? we are a hang out couple so i would suggest an all inclusive on a carribean island.
2. read
3. yep. although i am always watching my pennies...in good times and bad.
4. d) public school with extra care in parenting and household decisions to combat some of that agenda.
5. swimming. good in the heat plus a better thing to be good at in life in general :)
6. time and patience
7. we've been talking a lot about the economy (gas prices especially which lead to the middle east happenings) and the debate in wisconsin too.
8. to be in a better place with my constant anxiety...
9. experiences and adventures
10. song: adele - someone like you :)

I just love this questions for us!!!

1. Somewhere warm, relaxing, and waited on hand and foot. Not a place with tours, and guides and waking up early to be some place.

2. Just sit and stare at the ceiling and appreciate a few quiet moments to yourself where you're able to do absolutely NOTHING.

3. I didn't buy any antibacterial soap refill for the bathroom, and I'm instead using up all those little bars of soap that my husband feels MUST come home with him from each hotel we stay at.

4. Private, I'll help you push the motorhome.

5. SWIM, SWIM, SWIM! Baby C is going for her Silver Medal tonight, I pray she passes she's got so lazy and refuses to use her arms now that she's realized her legs are strong enough to get her where she needs to be.

6. When she begs to sleep in our bed JUST until she falls asleep. The sad puppy dog look on her face and the tears when I put her straight into her bed. I question if I've spent enough time with her today and I always answer "NO" and feel guilty and let her sleep in our bed.

7. If I get laid off, would I be able to find another job. Should I make a list NOW of things I'd cut off and stop doing so as to cut the bills down, even though I haven't even lost my job. I mean who wants to even live like that???

8. I would have another child.

9. I never had a sibling and was quite lonely, I cry when I see Baby C playing by herself and sitting by herself. It's a feeling only a single child could feel.

10. Favorite is a feeling, the feeling that everything is ok in my life right now and I really shouldn't want for anything, I have a roof over my head, food in my fridge and love in my family. I shouldn't worry about 1-9 but I do.

I love this!
1. do you have the best mom ever??! I'd go anywhere warm and relaxing. If I could afford it...some tropical island.
2. watch a movie
3. well we used to go out to eat a lot. now...maybe only once a month.
4. well, honestly if my kid was still in public school I'd probably just do A unless it was already really really bad. Then I'd do C. Which obviously is where we are now :)
5. Swimming. And that's just a personal preference of mine. I'm just not into the whole soccer mom thing.
6. yelling. ugh. always the yelling.
7. the economy and politics are furthest on my radar right now, honestly. The heaviest thing on my mind is my dad.
8. oh geeze....lots of things I guess.
9. I don't know. I think the most important thing to me is a strong family. A mom and a dad that have the time to be there and do things. I think my kids pretty much have it made in that department. (not that my parents weren't there for me but it was a different dynamic)
10. double white chocolate peanut butter pretzel cookies. YUM.

1.The mountains. Some place where I can sit and see gorgeous views and no annoying people. A place with no internet, cell phones, or tv. Seriously.
2. Take a bath, bring a glass of wine and a book.
3. Making definite cuts. I'm sticking to a budget, and cutting back on driving. Contemplating going to a 4 day workweek.
4. Private school. It doesn't have to be elite, just a solid foundation.
5. Swimming. It's a skill every person should know and it may help later in life (lifeguarding, college scholarship, military, save a life).
6.Skip ... no kids yet.
7. My health.
8. To no longer be an Alabama resident. My heart is in PA.
9. Dumb maybe, but money to go to camp or have summer activities instead of being home all summer.
10. Ice Cream. Yum.

Oh good, you're behind too so I can play catch up :).

1. To the mountains or to a city. Is U2 touring? Maybe there.

2. File, buff, polish, wax, pluck.

3. See #2. DIY!

4. Pray and research.

5. We opted for swimming but ours are younger.

6. Guilty that I am too neglectful of the chores that can so quickly take over the house and don't perfectly manage a good balance of work and play...

7. More often than not, it's more like #1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and on a good day maybe 10 and possibly some thoughts on what we're currently reading or current events.

8. The ability to stay closer with our families.

9. A dad! Ha -- a cop out I know.

10. The coffee that Josh makes for me every morning and sets out in a thermos where I'll find it. (After he finds and washes said thermos because I went to bed with a sink standing full of dishes.)

Your turn...
